The wingtip shoe you are displaying is a longwing which is usually, if not always, brogued. However, whoa is right about your definition being misleading (inaccurate).

Whoa is also correct in that the image you used for an Oxford is actual a Blucher (also known as a Derby).

Also note that what you are referring to as a Sandal is actually a Thong. A sandal is held on the foot by a strap across the instep.

As for polishing a patent leather shoe with the blackest of black shoe polish: Black shoe polish only comes in one color (Black), and it should not be used to polish patent leather. Patent leather should be cleaned not polished with shoe polish.

the image that you have alongside the link for oxfords shows a pair of shoes known as derbys, characterized by the quarters overlaping the vamp portion of the upper. also the image of the shoes that is paired with the 'wingtips' link is misleading in that it is completely inaccurate, this type of shoe is actually known as a brouge. this refers to the detailed embelishment around the seams. a shoe, usually either an oxford or derby, is 'brouged'. a brouge usually has either a straight toe cap or a 'wing-tipped' toecap, these are called semi-brouges and full-brouges respectively. a wing-tipped toe cap usually ends around the waist of the shoe where it curves down to meet the randing or welting. the brouges shown do not feature a wing-tipped toe cap, but it is permissable to call them 'full brouges'.

Looking at these shoes gets me all hot and bothered. Mmmm, I can hardly control myself. Here in Bahrain girls love men who wear sexy boat shoes. It's such a turn on.
