Nothing is as welcome a friend to the hiker as a tough, solid pair of boots, and these Pivetta boots by Golden Goose fits the ticket. Made tough in Italy of rugged leather, the mountaineer will find the tough lacing and d-ring construction familiar, while the steel latches on the soles provide traction. Available from Aloha.

These are pretty much the only pre-distressed boots that are even close to legitimate.
I haven’t heard anything about the flip-out crampon though; anyone know if it’s fixed/decorative?
I understand GG wants about $975 for these. Even if one were inclined to pay just about anything to get one more pair of Pivettas, GG has ruined any aesthetic they may have created with their *artistic* merit from their pre-distressing by that boxy and un-artistic logo with which they’ve bill-boarded the side of the boot! (An overblown sense of importance at work here?)
(BTW, Pivettas don’t need artful distressing.)
