John Lobb are always at the top of their game when it comes to sleek, elegant footwear that’s built to last. The Russel II model isn’t in your face flashy, but its refined cap toe design and unusual pewter suede colour is guaranteed to add some unexpected sprezz into your footwear collection. While the sole appears to look like it’s made from leather, it is actually constructed out of rubber. The result provides your feet with the maximum amount of comfort due to its lightweight design. 8695 last. Shoe trees included. Available at Leather Soul.

Rubber soled shoes really are the way forward these days. Leather is the traditional choice, but I find them slippy and inpractical. The best stockist of quality shoes I’ve come across is Arthur Knight in Northampton. Their rubber sole Paraboot original is my latest purchase – style Chambord here: http://www.arthurknightshoes.co.uk/shoe-products/1783/chambord-by-paraboot-shoes-in-marron-brown
