Nike’s hugely revered Flyknit technology was destined to make its way off the running track. This HTM designed Chukka-style iteration is constructed wholly Flyknit uppers with a satisfying marl and features a crisp white Lunar sole. While not specifically designed for performance the Flyknit Chukkas are undoubtedly going to be incredible comfortable and are proof that it would have been a crime for Nike to hide this technology away. Camouflage’s popularity endures for another season, as demonstrated with this Print Chukka Boot from Jimmy Choo for Spring/Summer 2013. Steven Alan delivers three new exclusive silhouettes for his Fall/Winter 2012 collection. The Collegiate Blucher shoe comes in a brown suede upper set on a Vibram red brick sole. A smooth black derby shoe looks great on the natural sole, providing minimalism with just enough stylistic punch. One boot variant completes the Steven Alan shoe offering with a three eyelet chukka boot, also on the Vibram brick seen with the Blucher.
Cole Haan returns with a new colorway for its LunarGrand Chukka silhouette. Available in an all-black suede upper combined with a vibrant yellow lunar sole with leather welt detailing, this chukka is probably one of our favorite versions of the silhouette. Look for these to drop at the upcoming Hong Kong and Harajuku Cole Haan pop-up stores with a possible general release afterwards.

Artist and designer Yohei Watanabe, aka “Code; c”, has returned with another collaborative effort with Untold. Watanabe, known for his sculptures, 2-D CG work and ‘painting performances’, brings his artistic influence to Untold’s premium cowhide suede chukka. With a splattering of hues to the beige and navy chukka, the footwear gains a sense of movement and a truly one-of-a-kind style. The collaboration will be made available through the Daylife online store. Pricing for the collaboration is still TBD.

American designer Cole Haan has been utilizing Nike’s cushioning technology to produce some innovative new chukka silhouettes for both men and women. Most recently, the LunarGrand Chukka uses Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning for its soles, adding comfort and improved cushioning to create a pretty unique look. These new color variations add a summery yellow, red and pale denim to the already available mix.
As a follow up to the LunarGrand Wingtip, Cole Haan is launching a line of LunarGrand Chukkas at their SoHo store in NYC this week. The shoes sport a nubuck upper that is paired with Nike’s Lunarlon sole for a combination of classic style and modern functionality. The ribbed soles are incredibly lightweight, deceptively comfortable and use micro-diamond tread for grip that is a cut above leather soles. Overall, it’s a pretty bizarre combination, but we gotta say it kind of works in its own weird way.
With the Chukka Bardenas LX released this past November, an update has been made to the silhouette for Spring 2012. This release features the footwear sporting a new sole and “deacon” design, created with high-quality tumbled leather uppers, suede interiors, metal eyelets and leather laces. Available in black, light green and navy, the Vans Vault Chukka Bardenas LX will be available at participating retailers this May.
Two releases from Eastland arrive in the form of the Millinocket Chukka offering a timeless design that will always add that perfect final touch to any outfit.
