Minimalist Parisian label A.P.C. has teamed up with Nike on a series of sneakers for Fall 2012. For this limited collection, A.P.C. is adding their aesthetic influence to two of Nike’s most revered and iconic sneakers: the Dunk and the Air Max. Both shoes have been stripped of any flashy colors or extroverted branding, and reduced to a Fall palette of navy, ecru, and brown. The collaborative A.P.C. branding hides just inside the tongue, keeping the timeless heritage of these two sneakers looking and feeling 100% true to their original counterparts. This highly anticipated collaboration should be trickling into select Nike stores towards the end of the summer.

Round two from Nike Sportwear and Steven Alan. Last year’s collection was a big favorite in the office with its unique selection of silhouettes re-imagined by Mr. Alan. The latest is the Zoom LeShoot low-top sneaker which uses the same nylon mesh upper that Alan used on the Nike Talache Low in 2011. We are pretty certain that photography does not do the nylon upper justice here. We recommend heading in-store to see them yourselves, but they are, of course, available online now.

Nike “Air Yeezy 2″

The highly-anticipated Nike “Air Yeezy 2″ has finally been revealed, and very much lives up to the hype. Hand skived anaconda textured leather quarter panels are embellished with a debossed Vac-Tech Nike Swoosh. The molded rear is sculpted into a series of spikes, while an engineered strap with scaled down spikes ties the feature together. Bringing the inspiration forward from the late 1980′s basketball foundation of the original Nike Air Yeezy, the II is built on the Nike Air Tech Challenge II tennis shoe outsole and celebrates iconic Nike Cross Training silhouettes with the addition of the molded forefoot strap.

Unnecessary padding was eliminated, and the foot-hugging tongue and plush collar are both comfortable and breathable. Concealed but opulent details reference ancient civilizations, including a loop strap with hieroglyphics that spell out ‘YZY.’ Each screw on lace aglet is obelisk shaped, and the anaconda texture is echoed on the eyelets and leather lace toggle that carries the Roman numeral ‘II.’

The Nike Air Yeezy II in both Platinum and Black editions will release June 9, in limited numbers, at select global retailers.
