By now you must have noticed that everyone is rocking boat shoes. The skate kids, the break kids, hipsters, the whole lot of ‘em – and it’s not too late for you to get in on the action. Dropping for Spring 2010 – here’s a first look at two of Vans Chukka Del Barcos.
Two very smooth colorways for the Spring once the snow thaws and you’ve hung up your Bean Boots. Charcol canvas with light khaki leather for one and matching Kangaroo colored canvas and leather on the other, both wrapped in that classic Vans vulcanized sole that you love.

Although it isn’t officially written as so, I’d say it’s probably a fact that you cannot be in the sneaker manufacturing business for nearly 30 years unless you are putting out consistent heat… Lacostes new Niseko M3 Collection is a testament to that fact. Despite being overshadowed by the bigger players in the game like Nike and Adidas the oft-overlooked Lacoste has been putting out well-engineered, fashion-forward athletic shoes since the early 80’s that only real sneakerheads or old tennis junkies might remember. This drop comes in a low and high top version that even the most dedicated Polo Ralph Lauren-head would find both comfortable and stylish – go ahead, mix it up and show your respect to an architect of the game we all love so much.
Expect these to only come through Southeast Asia, head to Lacoste to check the stocklists.

If you happen to be one of the aforementioned sneakerheads unwilling to sacrifice your athletic image you can still get down with some Nike Sportswear Blazers of the Vintaged variety. This light grey pack is said to have been inspired by the timeless rivalry of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. Though we didn’t see the epic showdown this past post season you can still rep for the Yanks and Red Sox fans can throw them on ice because hey, “there’s always next year…”
Part of the Holiday Collection you can pre-order yours now from Kix-Files.

I know that there are some sneakerheads out there who would love to don a more sophisticated leather shoe but can’t bear the thought of wearing anything without a rubber sole. Well now you can breathe easier – Nike Sportswear has come up with the answer in the form of a Rustic leather Blazer with the Supreme touch.
Featuring premium leather with detailed stitching around an embossed logo on the tongue and a perforated swoosh, these Blazers not only look great on the outside, they feel incredible on the inside with a soft white liner. Dropping at Tier 0 accounts these will set you back a little more than your general releases, but they’ll put you that much closer to wearing a real “shoe” rather than a sneaker. Baby steps, baby steps.

Vans gives the Luxury treatment to their Chukka del Barco for the upcoming holiday season with four anticipated releases. A high and a low version of this updated take on the classic boat shoe silhouette – one in black and the other in white. Keep an eye on the Vans Online Shop or your local retailer, and if you haven’t jumped on the boat trend yet you can thank Vans for the opportunity to get on board at a reasonable price as always.

Over on the East Coast we’re starting to experience our first round of winter weather, NYC even has a chance of snow for today! Way too soon if you ask me, but thankfully with these new Terminator’s what it doesn’t mean is that you’ll have to sacrifice your sneaker game for your duck boots just yet. These Terminator’s have a beautiful croc upper with metal rivet lace loops just like a hiking boot would to make sure you’re ready for whatever the winter streets can throw at you.
Dropping at select Tier Zero accounts only, but you can still pick up a pair from Sneakers n’ Stuff

It seems like everytime you open up a GQ or an Esquire these days their style guide is trying to sell you on a pair of white canvas sneakers to use to dress down your office wear for some after-work party or a Saturday morning stroll. I know what you’re thinking: “Heyyy, not a bad idea…” You’re right! It’s not! But the problem with those style tips (if you’re a Nikehead) is that they always show you some pair of Adidas or some obscure Euro brand that looks a little bit too pointed to be comfortable.
Enter the Nike All Court with the A.P.C. minimalist touch. This isn’t the first time Nike got together with the renowned French denim specialists, but in this go around with a rubber toe and a leather heel tab the two have brought you exactly what you needed to pull of that ever pressing sartorial look: the end of the day suit with white sneakers.
Breathe easy Nike enthusiasts, loosen up your tie and check out A.P.C. at their online shop to pick up a pair.
